SEF Reveals Riyadh 2023 Global Esports Games Details
The Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) has recently announced the details for the upcoming Riyadh 2023 Global Esports Games (GEG23). With the event set to begin in five days, the SEF unveiled the tournament's structure, which will commence on December 12 and conclude on December 16.
Hosted by the Global Esports Federation (GEF), over 250 top-tier players from over 50 countries will compete in GEG23 across popular titles including Dota 2, eFootball™️ 2024, PUBG MOBILE, and Street Fighter 6. Turki Al-Fawzan, CEO of SEF, anticipates an exceptional event, with massive prizes and competitive elimination rounds that draw global viewership.
The event will be a mix of esports, sports, technology, culture, and gaming community activities. It follows intense qualifiers that cut down participants from 104 countries and 1,165 players to just 250+ finalists from 56 countries.
Dota 2 starts the event with eight elite teams in a single-elimination bracket, reaching its finale on December 16. Alongside Dota 2, Street Fighter 6 begins with a round-robin format among 33 countries. eFootball™️ 2024 rolls out on December 13, with a three-day tournament leading up to its conclusion on the final day. Coinciding with this, the Dota 2 Women's tournament also begins, following a similar pattern.
PUBG MOBILE enters the competition on December 14 and will wrap up on December 15. The teams will strive to outlast each other using a point system.
Concurrently, GEFcon starts on December 12, where industry leaders across various fields will discuss the future evolution of esports.
