Makkah Region Records Highest Rainfall in Saudi Arabia
Recent weather reports highlight significant rainfall across several regions, with Makkah leading the totals.
The Makkah region of Saudi Arabia experienced the highest rainfall among the country's ten regions on Friday, with Sarar in the Taif governorate receiving 64 millimeters of precipitation.
The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture conducted a comprehensive analysis, detailing rainfall recorded by 129 hydrological and climatic monitoring stations across various regions, including Riyadh, Qassim, the Eastern Province, Asir, Hail, Jazan, Najran, Al-Baha, and Al-Jouf.
Notable rainfall levels in Makkah included 42.8 mm at Al-Hada Park in Taif, 40.4 mm in Madrakah, Al-Jamum, 27.3 mm at Al-Shafa in Taif, and 24 mm at King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah.
Other significant measurements included 23 mm in Al-Sudairah in Taif, 20.4 mm in Al-Marqaban in Adham, and 20.4 mm in Bani Saad in Maysan.
In the Asir region, rainfall totals were recorded at 29.4 mm in Tamniyah, Abha, 27.2 mm in Al-Sha'af, and 19.56 mm in Bisha, among others.
The Jazan region saw 23.7 mm at Al-Dair, with various localities such as Al-Jabal Al-Aswad and Baysh recording lower amounts of 4.9 mm and 4.8 mm, respectively.
Al-Baha also recorded rainfall, with 11.8 mm in Al Baha city, while the Eastern Province logged varying amounts, including 6 mm at Umm Al Shafallah train station in Al-Qarya Al-Ulya.
In Riyadh, the rainfall varied from 4 mm at Kharoub farms in Shaqra to 2.6 mm at Al-Thumama Airport.
The Najran region also contributed to the overall totals, with measurements including 4.2 mm at the Habona station.
Hail and Al-Jouf regions reported similar lower levels, with Hail receiving 3 mm and Al-Jouf documenting 1.4 mm.
