Makkah Grand Mosque Distributes Over 200,000 Iftar Meals Daily
Extensive efforts ensure safe and organized distribution during Ramadan.
The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, in collaboration with various charitable organizations, is overseeing the distribution of over 200,000 iftar meals every day at the Grand Mosque in Makkah during the month of Ramadan.
This initiative is supported by a workforce comprising more than 3,000 staff members and 1,000 volunteers.
The iftar distribution involves setting up 3,200 meal spreads that collectively extend over 50 kilometers within the mosque precincts.
These meals are provided to worshippers who break their fast in designated areas within the holy mosque and its surrounding courtyards.
To maintain health and safety standards, the arrangements for meal distribution adhere to strict organizational protocols.
Cleanup operations following iftar are completed efficiently, usually within five minutes, allowing the facilities to remain clean and ready for ongoing worship activities.
This initiative is part of the larger commitment to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for all attendees during this significant period in the Islamic calendar.
