Prophet’s Mosque Hosts 4,000 Mu’takifs for Ramadan Itikaf
4,000 worshippers from 120 countries participate in the final days of Ramadan at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.
The Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah has welcomed 4,000 male and female mu’takifs from 120 countries as the last ten days of Ramadan commence, marking a significant moment in the holy month for many Muslims.
This year's Itikaf service has been organized according to the mosque's allocated capacity, ensuring a structured and meaningful experience for participants.
The mu’takifs are accommodated in designated worship areas, including the Western roof, accessible via stairs No. 6 and 10, as well as in the north-eastern section and at entrance gates 24 and 25A.
The General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques has implemented various services to support the mu’takifs during their time of seclusion and worship.
Key services include dedicated service desks, which provide assistance and information, luggage lockers for the convenience of worshippers, medical clinics, and first aid facilities that ensure health and safety.
Additionally, translation support is available in multiple languages to assist the diverse group of worshippers.
In order to enhance the spiritual experience, the authority also organizes religious lessons during the Itikaf period.
Full hospitality is provided for iftar, dinner, and suhoor, catering to the needs of the mu’takifs.
Furthermore, mobile charging stations and personal care kits are distributed to support their stay.
To facilitate access to various services and designated areas, each mu’takif is given a wristband.
This measure aims to streamline the experience and help ensure that worshippers can fully engage in their spiritual practices during these sacred days.
