Royal Order Extends Dr. Eman Al-Mutairi’s Tenure as Deputy Minister of Commerce
Dr. Al-Mutairi's role is extended for an additional four years, reflecting her significant contributions to Saudi commerce.
A royal order has been issued to extend the tenure of Dr. Eman Al-Mutairi as Deputy Minister of Commerce in Saudi Arabia for an additional four years, as announced by the Ministry of Commerce on Thursday.
Dr. Al-Mutairi's career encompasses extensive experience across both public and private sectors.
Before her current appointment, she served as the Assistant Minister of Commerce and the General Supervisor of the Executive Committee for Improving the Performance of the Private Sector.
In her various roles, Dr. Al-Mutairi has been instrumental in initiatives aimed at enhancing fiscal competitiveness, notably in her contributions to the establishment of the National Competitiveness Center, part of the National Transformation Program 2020. Her previous positions include advising the Minister of Commerce and Investment prior to the division of the ministries, and serving as the Director of the Strategic Transformation Office at the General Investment Authority, now known as the Ministry of Investment.
Dr. Al-Mutairi has also held leadership positions at Saudi Aramco.
From 2012 to 2014, she was the Project Manager for the Aramco–Johns Hopkins partnership.
She led the Leadership Development Project under the Accelerated Strategic Transformation Program from 2011 to 2012, and served as the Head of Workforce Planning and Analytics from 2010 to 2011. Additionally, she was responsible for Quality and Patient Safety at the Aramco Hospital from 2007 to 2010 and worked as a Preventive Medicine Consultant from 2003 to 2006.
On an international level, Dr. Al-Mutairi served as a Scientific Research Consultant at PerkinElmer Life Sciences in the United States from 2000 to 2002.
Dr. Al-Mutairi holds a PhD in Biochemical Organic Chemistry from the University of Bristol, UK, and a bachelor's degree in chemistry from King Faisal University, now known as Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University.
She has also conducted postdoctoral research in genetics and molecular biology at Harvard University, where she lectured.
Most recently, she obtained an executive coaching certificate from Henley Business School at the University of Reading, UK.
