Diners can enjoy meals overlooking the Grand Mosque, enhancing the spiritual experience of Ramadan.
A new restaurant located within the iconic Clock Tower has commenced operations, providing a unique venue for breaking the Ramadan fast with a view of the Grand Mosque, the holiest site in Islam.
The restaurant sits directly beneath the clock face of the tallest building in the country, offering diners a panoramic vista of the Grand Mosque and the Holy Kaaba.
According to Mohammed bin Youssef Makhtoom, the e-marketing manager at the Fairmont hotel, much effort has gone into the preparation for this new dining experience.
"We are providing guests a unique opportunity to dine at Makkah’s highest point, directly beneath the clock, with a breathtaking view of the Grand Mosque and the Holy Kaaba," he explained.
The restaurant's setup reflects both the significance of the location and the importance of Ramadan.
Preparations began well in advance, with staff receiving specialized training to meet the expectations of diners during this sacred month.
The interior features decorations inspired by Ramadan, aimed at enhancing the spiritual ambiance of the setting.
Interest in the restaurant has been significant, with high demand for reservations reported.
The menu comprises a wide array of traditional Arab and Saudi dishes, including quzi (a spiced rice and meat dish), grilled specialties, and soups, in addition to seafood and a selection of Ramadan desserts.
To cater to the diverse preferences of guests, international options as well as vegetarian and health-conscious selections are also available.
As part of the dining experience, patrons receive access to the Clock Tower Museum, which is run by the Misk nonprofit organization and serves as an educational center.
Feedback from guests has reportedly been very positive, with many describing their overall experience as unforgettable, marked by luxurious service, a spiritually uplifting atmosphere, and direct views of the Grand Mosque.
In anticipation of future Ramadan events, the restaurant plans to introduce additional offerings and menu options.
