Saudi Arabia Launches National Capability Center for Semiconductors
Saudi Arabia's top research institutions, KACST and KAUST, have launched the National Capability Center for Semiconductors to enhance local semiconductor research and development. Announced at the 3rd Future of Semiconductors Forum, the center will support 30 universities and train 500 students annually. Additionally, KACST and KAUST will offer a master's program and a two-year diploma in integrated circuit design.
Saudi Arabia's top research institutions, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and King Abdullah University for Science and Technology (KAUST), have jointly launched the National Capability Center for Semiconductors (NCCS).
Unveiled at the 3rd Future of Semiconductors Forum in Riyadh, the center aims to boost research, development, and local expertise in the semiconductor industry.
The NCCS will provide resources and training for 30 universities and 500 Saudi students annually.
Additionally, KACST plans to introduce a master's program in collaboration with Princess Nourah Bint Abdulraham University and the University of California, Los Angeles.
KAUST is also prioritizing investments in semiconductor research and is partnering with local companies like Alat for training initiatives, including a two-year diploma program on integrated circuit design.
