Al-Dawood: Qiddiya Foresees the Creation of 325,000 Jobs and 48 Million Annual Visits
Abdullah Al-Dawood, managing director of Qiddiya Investment Company, has confirmed that Qiddiya City is expected to generate 325,000 jobs and receive 48 million visitors every year. He spoke at the “Accelerated Progress in the Saudi Labor Market” session during the inaugural Global Labor Market Conference in Riyadh, which started on Wednesday. The session included prominent figures such as Muhammad Abu Nayyan, chairman of ACWA Power; Turki Aljawini, director general of HADAF; and Nadhmi Al-Nasr, CEO of NEOM.
These leaders explored the impact of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 on rapid labor market development and emphasized skill-building and employment growth, especially in tourism a sector with high skill demands.
Al-Dawood highlighted Qiddiya’s vision as a global and comprehensive city that will draw in millions of visits each year while providing a wide array of living spaces and creating substantial employment opportunities across diverse sectors. He also noted its intent to enhance skill levels and quality standards.
Projected to be among the world's largest tourism attractions, Qiddiya City will be located 40km from central Riyadh, featuring leisure facilities including theme parks, sports venues, and cultural events. The project aims to provide employment for many Saudi individuals and host international sports competitions and activities.
Aljawini from HADAF remarked on the organization's commitment to meeting labor market demands by forming partnerships and investing in skill development to reinforce Saudi workforce presence in the private sector.
Abu Nayyan expressed his pride in Saudi Arabia’s role in training young people, particularly in water desalination. He also celebrated the training of over 15,000 Saudis with advanced skills through the Technical Institute, anticipating green energy projects to offer millions of job opportunities globally.
