UAE Delegation Meets with New York City Mayor to Discuss Collaboration on Sustainable Development
A delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) met with the Mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, to discuss collaboration and expertise sharing in the field of sustainable cities and community empowerment, reported Emirates News Agency.
The meeting took place during the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, with the aim of advancing progress on UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The UAE delegation highlighted their experience in community empowerment initiatives that have had a significant impact on cross-border development.
They also discussed their participation in large-scale sustainable development projects in poor countries.
The delegation outlined their complete strategy for achieving the UN SDGs 2030 on a local and global scale, including projects started by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Global Initiatives in over 100 countries.
They also emphasized the contributions of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, which has provided financial aid and soft loan-based development projects since 1971, with a focus on assisting climate-vulnerable communities.
Mayor Adams provided a comprehensive briefing on his initiatives to promote economic growth in New York City, as well as strategies for improving safety and public health.
He was invited by the UAE delegation to attend key international events organized by the UAE, including the World Government Summit.
The collaboration between the UAE and New York City aims to advance progress on the UN Sustainable Development Goals and promote sustainable development on a local and global scale.
