Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Jeddah on Monday for high-level discussions with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and US officials.

The meetings are part of Saudi Arabia's ongoing role as a mediator in global conflicts, particularly in the Russia-Ukraine war.

During his visit, Zelenskyy is scheduled to meet with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to advance talks aimed at establishing a framework for lasting peace.

Zelenskyy indicated that his team would remain in Saudi Arabia following the meeting to collaborate further with American partners on diplomatic efforts.

A Ukrainian official revealed plans for discussions centered on a proposed air and naval ceasefire with US counterparts.

The official remarked, "We have a proposal for a ceasefire in the air and at sea, as these options are easier to implement, monitor, and initiate."

US President Donald Trump expressed optimism regarding the negotiations taking place in Jeddah, stating, "I believe we will reach good results in the negotiations."

Saudi Arabia has positioned itself as a critical player in international diplomacy, engaging in negotiations not only between Ukraine and Russia but also facilitating discussions involving senior political figures from both countries in recent weeks.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has taken an active role in diplomatic engagements to address conflicts in an increasingly multipolar global landscape.
