Annual event raises funds for charitable causes, benefiting the Friends of the Disabled Association this year.
The Riyadh Literary Club has successfully hosted its 18th Charity Book Fair at its headquarters located in the Al-Malaz district of Riyadh.
This annual cultural event has established itself as a significant platform for promoting books, knowledge, and engagement in cultural dialogues, drawing in a diverse audience of intellectuals, writers, and book enthusiasts.
Traditionally, the book fair serves a dual purpose: it not only celebrates literature but also channels the proceeds from the sale of donated books to support selected charitable organizations.
For this edition, the funds raised will benefit the Friends of the Disabled Association, a group dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities in Saudi Arabia.
Saleh bin Abdulaziz Al-Mahmoud, president of the Riyadh Literary Club, emphasized the event's significance in a recent interview, describing it as a national and cultural initiative that has enjoyed sustained popularity for over 18 years.
He noted that the fair epitomizes the club's commitment to fulfilling its social and cultural responsibilities as an integral part of the community.
Since its establishment, the Charity Book Fair has supported 18 licensed charitable organizations, addressing a variety of causes including services for people with disabilities, healthcare provision, orphan support, access to clean water, and other philanthropic initiatives.
The fair not only fosters a love for reading but also contributes to the enhancement of community welfare through its charitable activities.
