Saudi King and Crown Prince Launch Fifth National Charity Campaign with $19 Million Donation
King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman contribute to the Ehsan platform to support charitable initiatives during Ramadan.
On March 8, 2025, King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced a donation of SR70 million (approximately $19 million) to the National Campaign for Charitable Work through the Ehsan platform.
This initiative marks the launch of the fifth edition of the campaign, aimed at enhancing charitable efforts during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
King Salman contributed SR40 million, while Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman donated SR30 million.
The Saudi Press Agency reported that the campaign is designed to provide all citizens and residents in the Kingdom with the opportunity to participate in charitable acts, thereby promoting community solidarity throughout Ramadan.
Majid Al-Kassabi, the chairman of the Ehsan platform's supervisory committee, expressed appreciation for the continued support from both the King and Crown Prince, highlighting their commitment to charitable work since the platform's establishment under royal decree in 2021.
The previous campaigns have seen significant successes, with the 2024 iteration generating over SR1.8 billion through approximately 15 million transactions.
This reflects Saudi Arabia's prominent role in charitable initiatives and sustainable development efforts.
During the campaign, donors are encouraged to contribute digitally to a variety of charitable and developmental sectors.
Contributions can also be directed toward the Ehsan Endowment Fund.
Transactions are processed securely via the Ehsan app or through a designated call center number.
