Saudi Arabia and Norway Lead International Meeting on Recognizing Palestine, Ending Gaza Conflict, and Implementing Two-State Solution
Saudi Arabia and Norway led a meeting in Brussels with representatives from various countries, including Algeria, Austria, Egypt, Germany, Indonesia, and others, to discuss recognizing Palestine and ending the conflict in Gaza.
The attendees emphasized the need for a two-state solution and urged an end to the war.
This meeting followed a similar one hosted by Saudi Arabia in Riyadh on April 29.
The conference called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, release of prisoners and hostages, and an end to illegal Israeli measures.
Discussions also focused on establishing a Palestinian state within the two-state solution and adopting a political path for a sustainable peace.
The international community's recognition of a Palestinian state was emphasized as crucial for implementing the two-state solution in accordance with international law and agreed standards.
A meeting took place where it was discussed that a just and lasting solution for the Palestinian issue should be reached, ensuring the rights of the Palestinian people and security in the region.
This would lead to normal relations between countries.
The meeting precedes Norway, Spain, and Ireland's formal recognition of a Palestinian state on Tuesday, a largely symbolic move that has angered Israel.
