MSI Launches "Claw," a New Contender in the Portable Gaming Device Market, Setting Its Sights on Valve’s Steam Deck

MSI, a leading computer manufacturing corporation, has boldly entered the competitive portable gaming devices market with the introduction of its new gaming-focused device dubbed "Claw." The announcement of Claw comes as the portable gaming sector heats up, particularly after the resounding success of Valve's Steam Deck.
Key Features of the MSI Claw:

1. Processor: Claw boasts an all-new Intel "Core Ultra" processor, offering customers the option to select the "Core Ultra 7 155H" for top-tier performance.

2. Pricing and Models: MSI plans to launch three models of the Claw, with prices ranging between $700 and $800, set to be available in the first half of the year.

3. Storage and Memory: The base model comes equipped with a "Core Ultra 5" processor, a 512 GB internal storage capacity, in addition to a 16 GB RAM and a 1 TB "PCIe M.2" storage space.

4. Display: The device sports a 7-inch IPS display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, a 1080p resolution, and a brightness peak of 500 nits.

5. Battery: A 53-watt battery that MSI claims can provide up to two hours of runtime under heavy stress.

6. Cooling: An improved cooling system with air vents that are 50 percent larger than competitors’ models.

7. Design and Weight: Tipping the scales at 675 grams, the Claw measures 294×117×21.2 mm.

8. Controls and Buttons: Features include touch-sensitive buttons, hall-effect trigger controls, and customizable miniature buttons.

9. Ports and Connectivity: Includes a "Micro SD" slot, a "Thunderbolt 4" port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a power button integrated with a fingerprint sensor.

10. Software: The Claw will run Windows 11 OS, supplemented by MSI's "MSI Center M" software for managing games and libraries.
