Diriyah Gate Development Authority Launches Mosque Design Competition for Saudi Students
RIYADH: Diriyah Gate Development Authority has launched a mosque design competition for Saudi students, offering them an opportunity to showcase their talents and contribute to the city's architectural landscape.
The competition calls for Saudi students to design two mosques in a traditional Najdi architectural style using locally-sourced building materials and techniques.
Participants can enter either individually or in groups of three to five.
In addition to reflecting the cultural heritage of Diriyah, participants are encouraged to incorporate sustainable building methods into their designs.
A special committee will select the top 10 entries, which will then be reviewed by a jury composed of public and private sector experts.
The committee will choose the three best participants and award them financial prizes to recognize their achievements.
The competition is part of the authority's efforts to develop the skills of young engineering talents and encourage innovation in architecture.
Registration for the competition will run until July 25, and winners will be announced in September.
This competition presents a valuable opportunity for Saudi students to showcase their talents and contribute to the development of Diriyah's architectural landscape.
