Saudi Arabia Hosts US-Ukraine Talks as Part of Global Peace Efforts
The Saudi Cabinet endorses the Kingdom's role in facilitating dialogue aimed at resolving the Ukraine conflict while emphasizing its commitment to regional stability.
In a recent session chaired by King Salman in Jeddah, the Saudi Council of Ministers welcomed the commencement of talks between the United States and Ukraine hosted by Saudi Arabia.
This initiative is part of the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to bring an end to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
The Cabinet stated that hosting these talks reflects Saudi Arabia's balanced relations with various international stakeholders and underscores its role in promoting global security and peace through dialogue.
Following the Cabinet session, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary provided insights, noting that discussions between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had emphasized Saudi Arabia's commitment to supporting international efforts towards resolving the crisis in Ukraine and achieving lasting peace.
The two leaders acknowledged the strengthening economic ties between their countries, which include plans for the re-establishment of the Joint Business Council in 2025.
The Cabinet also reviewed a message from Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki and an update from a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Additional discussions focused on regional and international cooperative efforts held in the Kingdom, aimed at enhancing partnerships and addressing challenges within the region.
Saudi Arabia expressed its firm rejection of any calls for the displacement of the Palestinian population, reaffirming its commitment to cooperation with allied nations in implementing the two-state solution.
The Cabinet praised ongoing initiatives by the Syrian leadership aimed at maintaining civil peace and building state institutions to meet the aspirations of the Syrian people, emphasizing Saudi Arabia's support for Syria's unity and territorial integrity.
The session noted the contributions of senior Islamic scholars at the Global Conference for Building Bridges among Islamic Schools of Thought in Makkah, acknowledging Saudi Arabia's pivotal role in fostering solidarity among the Muslim community.
The Cabinet reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's dedication to enhancing partnerships with international organizations, particularly highlighting its leadership of the 69th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.
This role aligns with the Kingdom's broader achievements in local, regional, and global contexts.
In recognition of national pride, the Cabinet highlighted the celebration of Flag Day on March 11, which acknowledges the historical significance of the Saudi flag.

Saudi economic activities recorded positive growth rates during 2024, attributed to the successful implementation of Vision 2030 programs and national strategies.
The Cabinet authorized multiple agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation in various sectors, including knowledge and publishing, investment protection, cybersecurity, and customs matters.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved memorandums of understanding between Saudi Arabia and countries such as Tunisia, Vietnam, Uruguay, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kosovo, and South Korea, focusing on various aspects including investment promotion, political consultations, and mutual assistance in customs and legal matters.
