Absher Electronic Platform Facilitates Over 430 Million Transactions in 2024

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Interior reports significant e-transactions via Absher for citizens and visitors.
In 2024, Saudi Arabia's electronic platform Absher has executed more than 430 million electronic transactions for its citizens, expatriates, and visitors, as reported by the Ministry of Interior.

The transactions were processed through the Absher Individuals and Absher Business portals.

The Civil Status Agency conducted over 31 million transactions, which included significant activities such as 1,105,363 verifications of national ID validation, 656,999 renewals of electronic national ID cards, and 356,031 My Data service transactions.

Additional services included 301,745 family member identifications, 180,310 enhanced My Data service transactions, 118,370 replacements of lost national ID cards, and 70,579 family records queries.

Furthermore, there were 41,128 replacements of damaged national ID cards.

The General Directorate of Passports completed over 56 million operations.

Key activities included the issuance of 33,371,269 exit and reentry visas and the issuance and renewal of 3,599,884 residency permits (iqama).

The issuance and renewal of Saudi passports reached 1,253,361, of which 351,218 were for minors under the age of 10. The General Directorate also handled 238,060 exit and reentry visa extensions and 103,851 final exit visa cancellations, among other services.

Public Security reported over 35 million completed operations.

This included 1,641,787 vehicle registration renewals, 1,209,792 vehicle repair permit requests, and 1,003,545 driver's license renewals.

Other significant services included the issuance of 764,656 driving authorization requests and 625,379 plate replacement services.

Additionally, there were 312,790 operations concerning vehicle sales and 204,846 activities related to scrapping neglected or damaged vehicles.

Within the year, Absher has also facilitated 301,368,820 transactions via digital wallet, processed 1,952,188 requests for document delivery by mail, and handled 924,246 Absher reports.

Operations conducted through the Absher Business platform exceeded 26 million, covering areas such as the issuance of 12,784,007 internal and external authorizations, 4,078,987 residency permits, and 2,599,923 traffic violation inquiries.

Other recorded activities included 1,494,715 exit and reentry visas, 1,054,678 additions of actual vehicle users, and various operations in customs card endorsements and service transfers.

The platform also managed hundreds of thousands of transactions across diverse services, including requests for driving authorization for visitors and vehicle repair permits for establishments.

Notable transactions also encompassed residency report services, final exit visa cancellations, and passport information updates.
