The Saudi Film Commission initiates programs to enhance the capabilities of local talent
The Saudi Film Commission has initiated its fourth Filmmakers Program and debuted the Kader Program, with the aim to develop local film talent. The launch event at Muvi Boulevard Riyadh City Cinema featured industry newcomers and veterans, reports the Saudi Press Agency.
Abdullah Al-Eyaf, the Commission's CEO, highlighted the commitment to nurturing Saudi film talent with elite training and the adoption of advanced technologies and tools. These training opportunities are expected to make a mark both locally and globally under the guidance of top trainers and international production partners.
The training caters to both novices and seasoned professionals, aiming to enhance Saudi cinema to higher standards. Al-Eyaf announced plans to train 4,000 individuals across 20 specialties, conduct 150 workshops, and offer 10 master classes across 13 regions. Additionally, the Kader Program will develop 50 promising national talents in collaboration with about 10 global cinema production houses.
The Filmmakers Program, spanning three levels for different skill sets, includes a mix of practical and online courses, master classes, and artistic residencies to bolster professional skills, improve local content quality, and fuel enthusiasm for filmmaking.
The Kader Program, focusing on industry professionals, will facilitate training with international production houses, exposing participants to world-class cinema experts and specialists.
Through these initiatives, the Saudi Film Commission aspires to support and enhance the Kingdom's film industry, producing films that can compete internationally and meet the ambitions of Saudi filmmakers.
