Saudi Minister Highlights Population Aging as Opportunity at Global Healthspan Summit 2025
At the Riyadh-hosted summit, Minister Faisal Al-Ibrahim emphasizes technology investments to extend healthy lifespan and unlock a demographic dividend.
During the Global Healthspan Summit 2025 in Riyadh on Wednesday, Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Al-Ibrahim outlined Saudi Arabia's strategy to address population aging.
He stressed the importance of investing in emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to extend the average healthy lifespan and enhance productivity across the Kingdom.
Minister Al-Ibrahim stated that rather than viewing population aging as a crisis, it should be seen as an opportunity to develop an untapped labor market.
He noted that Saudi Arabia, with its robust economic growth and substantial youth demographic, is well positioned to become a leader in the longevity economy.
The minister also highlighted that empowering the younger generation is key to driving development and facilitating systemic change.
