The new center, part of Saudi Vision 2030 initiatives, integrates global best practices in mental health care and offers a comprehensive range of services.
On Tuesday, Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif inaugurated the Azm Center for Psychological and Social Empowerment in Riyadh.
The center is operated under the General Directorate of Medical Services' City Medical Operation Program in collaboration with the Quality of Life Program, one of the key initiatives under Saudi Vision 2030. During the ceremony, Minister Abdulaziz received a detailed briefing from Dr. Saleh Al-Mohsen, General Supervisor of the General Directorate of Medical Services and the Security Forces Hospital Program, on the center's array of services.
These services include mental health assessments, psychotherapy sessions, family medicine, periodic follow-ups, social support, therapeutic nutrition, psychological rehabilitation, and occupational therapy that incorporates art and music therapy, along with dental care, pharmaceutical consultations, and laboratory diagnostics.
The minister also viewed a presentation on the center's operational framework, which has been developed in partnership with McLean Hospital, part of Mass General Brigham and Harvard Medical School, a globally recognized leader in psychiatric rehabilitation and mental health services.
The presentation further outlined the use of artificial intelligence in medical services, reviewed the center’s achievements in 2024, and detailed its objectives and projects for 2025. The Azm Center is one component of broader developmental projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life and mental health services across medical facilities under the General Directorate of Medical Services.
