Saudi Arabia Declares February Twenty-Two as Founding Day Holiday for Private and Non-Profit Sectors
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announces the official holiday to commemorate the founding of the First Saudi State and celebrate the Kingdom’s enduring legacy.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has declared Saturday, February twenty-two, as an official holiday for both the private and non-profit sectors in observance of Saudi Founding Day.
The holiday commemorates the establishment of the First Saudi State by Imam Mohammed bin Saud in one thousand seven hundred twenty-seven, marking a foundational moment in the Kingdom’s history.
This occasion highlights the early efforts to establish security and stability, which contributed to the formation of a unified society, beginning with Diriyah, the first capital.
It also traces the historical progression through the leadership of Imam Turki bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud, the founder of the Second Saudi State, and the eventual unification of Saudi Arabia under King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman.
Under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Kingdom has advanced in various sectors while maintaining its cultural heritage and national identity.
In celebration of this day, cities across Saudi Arabia will host cultural and artistic events that showcase the nation’s historical journey, heritage, and enduring values of unity and identity.
