Saudi KSRelief Launches Volunteer Initiative, Performs 49 Surgeries in Damascus
Under the Saudi Aml Volunteer Program, specialized medical teams completed 49 surgeries across oncology, cochlear implants, pediatric, and orthopedic procedures in Damascus.
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) has initiated three medical volunteer programs in Damascus, Syria, as part of the Saudi Aml Volunteer Program, which runs from February 5 to February 12, 2025. The programs focus on cochlear implants and auditory rehabilitation, pediatric oncology treatment, and orthopedic surgery.
According to official reports, KSRelief’s medical team has successfully performed a total of 49 surgeries to date, including 22 tumor surgeries, 12 cochlear implant procedures, 4 pediatric surgeries, 5 pediatric orthopedic operations, and 6 joint replacement and orthopedic surgeries.
The initiative is part of a broader effort that aims to conduct 104 medical and surgical campaigns across various Syrian cities and includes training, educational programs, and economic empowerment initiatives for underserved communities.
More than 3,000 volunteers are expected to participate in these campaigns, which are designed to enhance Syria’s healthcare sector and improve access to critical medical services.
