teamLab Borderless Museum Coming to Jeddah: First Middle Eastern Outpost of Interactive Digital Art Hub
The Saudi Ministry of Culture and teamLab, a Japanese art collective, have announced the construction of teamLab Borderless Jeddah, the first permanent teamLab Borderless museum in the Middle East.
Located in Jeddah's Historic District, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the museum will feature over 50 experiential artworks using digital technology and offer views of Alarbaeen Lagoon.
This initiative is part of the Ministry's plan to transform the historic center into a cultural hub.
teamLab Borderless museums are known for their immersive and exploratory artworks that interact and blend together.
TeamLab Borderless, a museum that opened in Tokyo in 2018 and drew over 2.3 million visitors in its first year, is expanding to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
This collaboration between the Saudi Ministry of Culture and teamLab aims to enhance Saudi Arabia's cultural scene as part of the country's Vision 2030 plan to build a rich cultural ecosystem.
