Saudi Date Exports Reach Record $517 Million in 2025
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia achieved a significant milestone in its date export industry, with exports valued at SR1.938 billion ($517 million) in 2025.
Riyadh: The date export sector in Saudi Arabia witnessed remarkable growth in 2025, reaching an all-time high value of SR1.938 billion ($517 million).
This marks a 14.3 percent increase compared to the previous year and represents a substantial 59.5 percent surge since 2021.
According to a report by the Saudi Press Agency, this achievement underscores escalating global demand for Saudi dates along with advancements in production efficiency within the sector.
The milestone export figure is a testament to the strategic objectives of Vision 2030, which aims at economic diversification and bolstering the agricultural sector's contribution to the nation’s gross domestic product.
The success can be attributed to a supportive government framework and effective cooperation between public and private entities, as emphasized by Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman Al-Fadhli.
Al-Fadhli, who also serves as Chairman of the National Center for Palms and Dates, highlighted that initiatives focused on empowering Saudi date exports have been pivotal in expanding market reach.
As it stands, the Kingdom exports distinctive date varieties to over 125 countries worldwide, maintaining its competitive edge through adherence to high-quality standards.
The production volume for dates reached an impressive 1.9 million tonnes in 2025, sourced from more than 37 million palm trees.
This growth in Saudi Arabia's date export market reflects a strategic advancement towards achieving economic diversification goals and enhancing the national agricultural sector’s footprint on the global stage.
