Pilgrims Conclude Hajj with Standing on Mount of Mercy, Begin Journey to Muzdalifah
The Hajj pilgrimage has concluded with the ritual of standing on Mount of Mercy (Jabal Al-Rahma) in Arafat.
Pilgrims have now begun their journey towards Muzdalifah by walking along the world's longest pedestrian path, which connects the Holy Sites and extends over 25 km.
The path includes four lanes and is designed with the highest engineering standards, with interlocking tiles, chairs for resting, and 500 spherical concrete barriers to prevent vehicle entry.
It is also equipped with high-tech lighting and water mist poles to reduce temperatures, as well as marble stations and umbrellas for drinking water and shade.
The walkway also includes a special passage for pilgrims with special needs and 57 guiding boards to help them navigate the Holy Sites.
When pilgrims arrive at Muzdalifah, they must spend the night and perform the Maghrib and Isha prayers together in a shortened form.
On the day of Eid Al-Adha, they will collect pebbles for stoning Satan at Jamarat in Mina and return to Mina to perform the stoning ritual.
