Toronto Plane Incident: Delta Flight Explodes into Fireball at Pearson Airport.

A Delta aircraft coming from Minneapolis made a crash landing at Toronto's Pearson Airport, leading to numerous injuries and a chaotic scene on the runway.
A Delta Connection flight from Minneapolis, operated by Endeavor Air, experienced a single-aircraft incident at Toronto Pearson International Airport around two fifteen PM Eastern Time on Monday, February 17, 2025. As stated by Delta Air Lines, the CRJ-900 jet exploded in flames and flipped over while attempting a crash landing.

Emergency responders evacuated all eighty individuals on board, with initial reports indicating that twenty-one injured passengers were taken to local hospitals.

Subsequent updates from Delta revealed that nineteen of those patients had been discharged.

Footage from the scene, including videos recorded by passengers, shows the aircraft overturned on a snow-blanketed runway, with one clip showing a passenger exiting the plane.

Local authorities reported that at least three individuals, including a child, suffered critical but non-life-threatening injuries, while other injured passengers received care at trauma centers and hospitals in the Toronto area.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has assumed responsibility for investigating the cause of the crash, and the Federal Aviation Administration has released air traffic control audio referring to the aircraft as "upside-down and burning" on the tarmac.

In response to the incident, Delta Air Lines activated its incident response team and dispatched specially trained Delta Care Team representatives to Pearson Airport to support the passengers and crew members.

Delta CEO Ed Bastian emphasized that the company’s foremost priority was to care for all customers and crew involved in the incident, and he acknowledged the efforts of first responders and medical personnel on the scene.

Further reactions came from public officials, including Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith, who expressed their support for the affected individuals and called for a comprehensive investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, this crash occurs amid a spate of recent aviation accidents in North America, leading to renewed scrutiny of air traffic control systems and aviation safety protocols by the relevant authorities.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are still ongoing.
