Saudi Media Forum Panel Discusses Kingdom's Vision Beyond 2034 FIFA World Cup

At the Saudi Media Forum 2025, Hammad Albalawi, head of the Saudi Arabia FIFA World Cup 2034 Unit, emphasized that the Kingdom's successful bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup is a pivotal element in its comprehensive national transformation strategy.
Speaking during a panel discussion, Albalawi noted that hosting the World Cup extends beyond the realm of sports, serving as a catalyst for advancements in tourism, infrastructure, and various other sectors.
He highlighted that the reforms implemented over the past eight years have garnered recognition from international organizations, positioning Saudi Arabia's transformation as one of the most significant globally.
Albalawi also detailed five marketing campaigns launched to promote the World Cup bid, which collectively amassed over 500 million views across social media platforms, reflecting growing global enthusiasm for Saudi sports.
He extended an invitation to the international community, stating that Saudi Arabia is in a phase of continuous growth and welcomes everyone, not just in 2034, but always.
Dr. Turki Alawad, a Shoura Council member and Vice President of the Arab Sports Press Association, underscored the deep-rooted passion for sports within Saudi Arabia.
He remarked that hosting events and tournaments offers the world an opportunity to experience the Kingdom's culture and history, which are integral to its identity.
The Saudi Media Forum 2025, held from February 19 to 21 in Riyadh, convened government officials, industry leaders, and media professionals to discuss topics including Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, the future of media, and the country's expanding global role.
