Saudi and Jordanian Leaders Discuss Enhanced Security Cooperation in Amman
High-level meeting focuses on strengthening bilateral relations and regional stability
On February 19, 2025, Saudi Arabia's Interior Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud, met with Jordan's King Abdullah II at Basman Palace in Amman.
The discussions centered on enhancing bilateral relations and strategic collaboration in security affairs.
Prince Abdulaziz conveyed greetings from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the Jordanian monarch.
The meeting was attended by Jordanian Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah and senior officials from both nations.
Both sides reiterated their commitment to maintaining regional stability and safeguarding mutual interests.
This meeting follows a series of engagements between Saudi and Jordanian officials aimed at bolstering security ties, including a cooperation agreement signed in September 2024 to combat illicit trafficking and smuggling of narcotics, psychotropic substances, and chemical precursors.
Additionally, in October 2024, King Abdullah II and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held discussions in Riyadh focusing on regional developments and efforts to achieve ceasefires in conflict zones.
