Saudi Business Center Launches Unified E-Code Service to Improve Transparency and Efficiency
The Saudi Business Center (SBC) has initiated the Unified Electronic Code service, enhancing transparency and efficiency by partnering with various government agencies, including the Ministries of Commerce, Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority, and the General Directorate of Civil Defense.
The service streamlines access to up-to-date, reliable business data, tackling the issue of clutter from mandatory display of certificates at business locations, and shortens the duration of regulatory inspections.
Initially, the service will link commercial registration, municipal licensing, tax, and civil defense permit data to a single electronic code, with plans to expand to include all business operational data and licenses.
The service ensures the accuracy of business data, allows consumers electronic access to business documents, and simplifies the process for business owners to manage regulatory information through the SBC's platform.
With over 750 services provided through its 17 centers in 14 cities, the SBC is crucial in supporting the launch and management of business activities by streamlining policy development and procedural efficiency in conjunction with other government entities.
