Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 Drives Measurable Lift in Global Reputation and Influence

International sentiment and media coverage improve noticeably as economic reform and diversification efforts reshape perceptions of the Kingdom
Saudi Arabia’s long-term development blueprint, Vision 2030, is increasingly credited with enhancing the Kingdom’s global reputation as the country pursues wide-ranging economic diversification, cultural engagement and international connectivity.

According to the latest findings from the fifth Kingdom Reputation Report, positive media coverage of Saudi Arabia rose by around twenty-five percent in 2024 compared with the previous year, while negative coverage declined sharply, marking a notable shift in global perception.

A multi-market survey accompanying the report found that a majority of respondents in regions including the United Kingdom, the United States, India, Singapore and Russia expressed favourable views of the Kingdom and acknowledged more positive impressions over the past year.

Vision 2030 stood at the centre of international discourse on Saudi Arabia in 2024, accounting for the largest share of global media coverage about the nation and outpacing political narratives for the first time since the initiative’s launch.

Observers highlight that landmark events tied to the strategy — including major technology, investment and defence exhibitions — along with expanding tourism and entertainment offerings have helped reposition Saudi Arabia as a destination for global business, culture and leisure.

High-profile developments such as the announcement that Riyadh will host the 2034 FIFA World Cup have also amplified international engagement, while UNESCO’s recent recognition of additional Saudi cities in the Global Network of Learning Cities reflects the Kingdom’s growing emphasis on education and community development.

Parallel to shifts in media sentiment, strategic investments in sectors such as advanced manufacturing and cyber security under the Vision umbrella are attracting global partners and deepening economic integration.

Officials assert these developments contribute to an evolving narrative in which Saudi Arabia is not only diversifying its economy but also building trust, drawing tourists and investors, and reinforcing its role as a regional and international partner.

With these trends, Vision 2030 is both reshaping internal growth and elevating Saudi Arabia’s standing on the world stage as a country open to global collaboration and innovation.
