Saudi Arabia confirms additional reserves of proven gas and condensate in Jafurah field
Saudi Arabia has discovered additional proven gas and condensate reserves in the Jafurah field, as revealed by Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman.
The field's reserves have increased by 15 trillion cubic feet of gas and two billion barrels of condensate. This success follows stringent international methodologies for resource assessment and development.
The upgraded resource estimates for the Jafurah field now stand at approximately 229 trillion cubic feet of gas and 75 billion barrels of condensate. These figures have been validated by a leading independent consultancy specializing in resource verification.
The Jafurah field, which spans 170 km by 100 km, is located in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province. It is the nation's largest unconventional non-associated gas field. This field holds an estimated 200 trillion cubic feet of wet gas, which includes valuable petrochemical gases and other high-value components.
Saudi Aramco, the national oil company, is leading the development of the Jafurah field with a projected investment of SR 412 billion ($110 billion).
