Makkah Environment Office Steps Up Inspections to Combat Unauthorized Animal Slaughter Ahead of Hajj
The Makkah environment office intensifies field inspections in collaboration with local authorities and organizations to prevent unauthorized animal slaughter during the Hajj season.
The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture's office in Makkah province recently initiated a proactive inspection campaign as part of efforts by the Unauthorized Slaughter Control Committee.
This campaign is conducted in partnership with the Makkah Municipality, the General Administration of Mujahideen, and the National Company for Agricultural Services.
The aim of these early preparations for the Hajj season is to enhance public health safety and reduce visual pollution in Makkah.
During the joint field efforts, several sites violating official slaughterhouse guidelines were identified.
As a result, sheep and camels intended for unauthorized slaughter were confiscated.
Legal penalties were also imposed on violators, adhering to relevant legislation.
This initiative reflects a commitment to maintaining public health standards and ensuring that all animal slaughters occur within regulated environments during the Hajj period.
