Sheikh Mohammed Approves Futuristic Palm Jebel Ali Development as Part of Dubai 2040 Master Plan
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has approved a new futuristic development masterplan for Palm Jebel Ali as part of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.
The approval is aimed at consolidating Dubai's status as a leading metropolis and enhancing its reputation as the world's best city to live, work, and visit.
The new development project, Palm Jebel Ali, is set to raise the global benchmark in waterfront living, provide luxury lifestyle amenities, and support the growth of the tourism sector.
It will also contribute to Dubai's sustainable development by opening new avenues for growth in several sectors.
The project will be a testament to Dubai's economic dynamism and exceptional outlook as a hub for talent and investment, adding about 110 km of coastline to Dubai and providing 35,000 families with luxury beachside living.
It will feature more than 80 hotels and resorts and a wide range of entertainment and leisure facilities.
The project will also support the emirate's vision to deliver the highest standards of urban infrastructure and facilities, increase beach destinations, and support sustainable development.
The article mentions that the plans for Palm Jebel Ali, a large man-made island in Dubai, include the incorporation of renewable energy resources into its infrastructure design to make it almost completely self-sufficient in power generation.
The project aims to obtain up to 30% of its energy requirements from renewable sources.
