Cabinet approves transformation of Shareek program into a center

The Cabinet, chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman on Tuesday at Irqah Palace here, approved to transform the Private Sector Partnership Reinforcement Program (Shareek) into a center named “the Private Sector Partnership Reinforcement Center (Shareek), and approving the center's organizational arrangements.
The Cabinet also approved an agreement between the government of Saudi Arabia and the government of Morocco in the field of air transport services, among other issues on its agenda.

At the outset of the session, the Cabinet was briefed on the contents of a message received by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman from the president of the Republic of Costa Rica, Rodrigo Chaves Robles, concerning bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways of supporting them in various fields.

The Cabinet also reviewed all the meetings held between the Kingdom and several countries over the past few days to boost cooperation and support multilateral action within international organizations and groups.

In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, Acting Minister of Media Dr. Majid Bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi said that the Cabinet commended the outcomes of the third Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum, organized by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) in partnership with the United Nations and its affiliated organizations.

It praised the forum's recommendations to enhance collective efforts in areas that can reach innovative, sustainable and practical solutions to humanitarian response and accelerate the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals.

In other decisions, the Cabinet authorized the Minister of Culture to discuss and sign with the Kuwaiti side a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the cultural field between the Ministry of Culture of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kuwait.

It authorized the minister of environment, water and agriculture to discuss and sign with the Djiboutian side a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of live animal stock between the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Agriculture, Water, Livestock and Fisheries of Djibouti.

The Cabinet also authorized the minister to discuss and sign with the Thai side a draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand in the agricultural field.

It approved Saudi Arabia’s accession to the Near East Plant Protection Organization (NEPPO). It also approved a draft memorandum of understanding between the government of Saudi Arabia and the government of South Africa for cooperation in the field of communications and information technology.

The Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding between the Communications, Space and Technology Commission of Saudi Arabia and the National Communications Agency of Brazil.

It authorized the minister of education to discuss and sign with the Bangladeshi side a draft memorandum of scientific and educational cooperation between the Ministry of Education of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Education of Bangladesh.

It authorized the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nuclear and Radiological Control Commission to discuss and sign with the Iraqi side a draft memorandum of understanding between the Nuclear and Radiological Control Commission of Saudi Arabia and the Radioactive Sources Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Iraq in the field of nuclear safety and radiation protection.

The cabinet authorized the minister of environment, water and agriculture, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saline Water Conversion Corporation to discuss and sign with the Japanese side a draft memorandum of understanding between the Saline Water Conversion Corporation of Saudi Arabia and Shinshu University in Japan in the field of seawater desalination.

It was intimated that the minister of municipal, rural affairs and housing and the minister of energy agree to define the violations referred to in Article (Third) of the Penalties Regulation for municipal violations related to fuel stations that are controlled by the Ministry of Energy, and to impose the penalties stipulated in the regulation.

The Cabinet assigned the minister of energy to issue the necessary executive decisions and how to implement them. It also approved the strategy of roads sector.

It approved the final accounts of the General Authority for Military Industries and the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property for a previous fiscal year.
