Saudi Arabia’s food safety authority has issued a public warning after a recall of specific batches of Nestlé infant formula products distributed in the kingdom, urging parents and caregivers to immediately stop using the affected items.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority said the alert was issued as a precautionary measure after the manufacturer notified regulators of a potential quality issue linked to a limited number of imported batches.

According to the regulator, the recall does not affect all Nestlé baby formula products sold in Saudi Arabia but is restricted to clearly identified batch numbers and production dates.

Inspectors have been instructed to remove the affected items from retail outlets, while importers and distributors have been ordered to cooperate fully with the recall process.

Consumers in possession of the listed products have been advised to return them to points of sale or contact distributors for replacement or refund.

The authority said there have been no confirmed reports of illness linked to the recalled formula in the kingdom, stressing that the action reflects Saudi Arabia’s strict preventive approach to food safety, particularly for products intended for infants.

The regulator also confirmed that ongoing laboratory testing and market surveillance are under way to ensure full compliance with national safety standards.

Nestlé has acknowledged the recall and said it is working closely with Saudi regulators to ensure consumer safety, while emphasising that the move is limited and precautionary.

The company reiterated its commitment to quality control and transparency across its infant nutrition products.
