First group of Saudi doctors and volunteers lands in Syria as part of KSrelief's 'Amal' program
A team of 61 Saudi doctors and specialists arrived at Damascus International Airport on Tuesday, marking the commencement of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's (KSrelief) 'Amal' (Hope) Volunteer Program in Syria.
The delegation includes experts in orthopedic surgery, pediatric oncology surgery, and cochlear implantation, and is scheduled to conduct critical medical procedures in collaboration with the Syrian Ministry of Health over a ten-day period.
This initiative is the first of 104 planned volunteer campaigns by KSrelief aimed at addressing urgent healthcare needs in Syria.
The program will involve over 3,000 Saudi volunteers contributing approximately 218,500 hours across 45 medical and training specialties.
KSrelief has announced that the 'Amal' Volunteer Program will continue supporting Syria for a full year, with campaigns scheduled based on ongoing field assessments to determine areas of need in the health sector.
The program aims to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people and secure their urgent needs in a number of specialties.
