Saudi Sherpa Office Hosts First G20 Workshop in Preparation for 2025 Summit
Workshop explores Saudi Arabia’s role under South Africa’s G20 presidency, with a focus on economic outcomes and collaboration.
The Saudi Sherpa Office at the Ministry of Finance held its inaugural G20 workshop on Monday, focusing on the Kingdom’s participation in the G20 under South Africa’s 2025 presidency.
Chaired by Deputy Minister of Finance and Saudi Sherpa Abdulmohsen Al-Khalaf, the session brought together Saudi delegation leaders for the upcoming G20 meetings.
The workshop reviewed South Africa’s presidency priorities, strategies, and expected outcomes, emphasizing Saudi Arabia’s efforts to support the South African presidency’s goals, particularly in advancing economic outcomes.
The discussions also focused on aligning Saudi Arabia’s national priorities with the broader G20 framework.
The preparation is aimed at enhancing Saudi Arabia’s role within the G20, with the G20 Leaders' Summit scheduled for November 22-23, 2025, in Johannesburg.
Al-Khalaf underscored the Kingdom’s leadership in promoting international cooperation and the G20’s objectives during the South African presidency.
