Saudi and Japan Strengthen Bilateral Ties at Strategic Dialogue Meeting
Saudi and Japanese Foreign Ministers co-chair second Strategic Dialogue, marking 70 years of diplomatic relations and signing two key agreements.
On Monday, Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Japanese Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi co-chaired the second Strategic Dialogue Meeting between Saudi Arabia and Japan in Tokyo.
During the meeting, Prince Faisal highlighted the significance of the 70-year diplomatic relationship between the two countries, describing it as a partnership rooted in shared values.
He expressed optimism about further strengthening these ties and emphasized the importance of the strategic dialogue in fostering tangible outcomes for both nations.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment to continued cooperation across various sectors.
Two memoranda of understanding were signed during the event: one to establish a strategic partnership council between Saudi Arabia and Japan, and the other to exempt holders of diplomatic and special passports from short-term visit visas.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Saudi Ambassador to Japan Dr. Ghazi bin Faisal and Director General of the General Administration for Asian Countries Nasser Al-Ghanem.
