Saudi Arabia and India Strengthen Ties in Mining and Minerals Sector
Ministers from Saudi Arabia and India meet to discuss strategic cooperation and advancements in mining and mineral exploration.
Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, met with India’s Minister of Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, in New Delhi to enhance bilateral cooperation in the mining and minerals sector.
The discussions focused on developing a strategic partnership and exploring joint initiatives in mining, particularly in prospecting critical minerals.
Both ministers emphasized the exchange of knowledge on sustainable mining practices and the implementation of smart solutions for mining operations.
They also discussed fostering collaboration on human resource development, technology transfer, and innovation in mineral exploration.
The meeting further highlighted the importance of joint efforts in geological surveys and the role of universities, research institutions, and specialized companies in advancing mining technologies and ensuring environmental sustainability.
The meeting was attended by Abdulrahman Al Samari, Chief Executive of Saudi Arabia’s Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, Saleh Al Solami, Chief Executive of the Industrial Center, and Jadi bin Naif Alraqaas, Saudi embassy Chargé d'Affaires.
