Saudi Arabia Secures Hosting Rights for UNIDO General Conference in 2025
Saudi Arabia has been selected to host the 21st UNIDO General Conference in Riyadh in November 2025, as declared during the 20th UNIDO General Conference in Vienna. The bid received unanimous support from all 172 member states.
Led by Industry and Mineral Resources Minister Bandar Al Khorayef, the Saudi delegation thanked leadership for their backing and acknowledged diplomatic efforts which secured the hosting rights. The event underscores Saudi Arabia's role in regional economic growth and industrialization, aligning with its Vision 2030 goals.
Hosting the conference reflects Saudi Arabia's influence and builds on its successful bid for World Expo 2030. It offers a platform to discuss global industrial futures, showcase Saudi industrial capabilities, and align with national strategies for economic diversification.
The 2025 conference will gather over 1,500 attendees, including UNIDO members, international organizations, and the private sector. UNIDO, established in 1966, fosters industrial development, supports smaller industries, and encourages global industrial cooperation.
