The campaign, running until the end of February, aims to enhance community health security and reduce the spread of infectious diseases.
Influenza, common in the winter season, can cause serious symptoms affecting daily life. Dr. Butti Al Suwaidi, a Public Health Specialist at DHA, stressed the importance of this campaign, which aligns with the national campaign implemented by health authorities across the country.
The campaign involves public health professionals providing medical advice and guidance on the significance of the influenza vaccine. This is particularly crucial for those at higher risk of infection, such as pregnant women, children aged 6 months to 5 years, elderly individuals above 65, people with chronic medical conditions, and healthcare workers.
Dr. Al Suwaidi highlighted the efforts of DHA’s Public Health Protection Department in protecting the community from infectious diseases like seasonal influenza and emphasized the importance of taking preventive measures to limit its spread. He urged community members, especially those at higher risk, to take the initiative to receive the influenza vaccine.
