Officials from the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority at the Al-Batha border successfully intercepted a smuggling attempt of approximately 49.6 kilograms of methamphetamine, commonly known as shabu. The narcotics were concealed in a vehicle entering Saudi Arabia.
During a vehicle inspection, the drugs were discovered, resulting in the arrest of the intended recipient within the kingdom.
The Authority emphasized its commitment to stringent customs surveillance on all imports and exports to prevent smuggling, working in collaboration with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control. They aim to safeguard society and the nation's economy from the threat of drug smuggling.
The public is urged to help in these efforts by reporting suspicious activities through the dedicated security hotline (1910), the international number (00966114208417), or by email at 1910@zatca.gov.sa.
