Saudi Ports Authority Appoints New President to Strengthen Leadership and Advance Strategic Goals
Suliman bin Khalid Al-Mazroua appointed as new president of Mawani, effective June 29.
The Saudi Ports Authority has announced the appointment of Suliman bin Khalid Al-Mazroua as its new president.
The move aims to bolster leadership and advance key strategic goals within the authority, which is pushing forward with initiatives aligned with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030.
This vision seeks to establish the Kingdom as a global logistics hub and a leading industrial power.
Al-Mazroua succeeds Mazen bin Ahmed Al-Turki, who had been acting president and was instrumental in developing logistics zones and parks across the Kingdom.
A significant achievement under his tenure was overseeing the signing of contracts valued at over SR2.2 billion ($586.6 million) to develop multi-purpose cargo terminals at eight Saudi ports.
The appointment underscores Mawani's commitment to supporting these strategic objectives, aimed at enhancing the Kingdom's position in global logistics and industry.
Al-Mazroua expressed gratitude for the board’s trust and pledged to further the authority’s goals.
He mentioned his appreciation to His Excellency Eng.
Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistics Services and Chairman of the Board of the Saudi Ports Authority, as well as other distinguished members of the board.
In a statement from Mawani, Al-Mazroua affirmed his commitment to advancing the authority’s strategic objectives and improving its performance in line with development plans and transformation programs.
Before taking up this role, he served as CEO of the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program.
In this position, he played a significant part in driving economic diversification, enhancing infrastructure in key sectors such as industry, mining, energy, and logistics, and encouraging investment to boost their contributions to the Kingdom’s gross domestic product.
Al-Mazroua brings over two decades of professional experience to his new role, having held various senior leadership positions.
He previously worked at Saudi Aramco from 2001 to 2017, progressing from technical roles to executive leadership and contributing to initiatives in research and development, cybersecurity, and healthcare.
Additionally, he has served on the boards of several organizations, including the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Saudi Arabia.
