
These talks were facilitated by Saudi Arabia and the United States, in collaboration with representatives from the African Union and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).
In its statement, Saudi Arabia urged the SAF and RSF to continue the dialogue based on the agreements reached in the Jeddah Declaration of May 11, 2023, which included a commitment to protect civilians, as well as the short-term ceasefire agreement signed on May 20, 2023, in Jeddah. The Kingdom expressed its keenness on unity, promoting wisdom, ending the conflict to prevent further bloodshed, and easing the suffering of the Sudanese people.
The goal of these talks is to halt all forms of conflict, as it is seen as crucial for resolving the crisis in Sudan and achieving a political settlement that can bring security, stability, and prosperity to the country and its citizens. Saudi Arabia is playing a role in facilitating these negotiations, emphasizing the importance of a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Sudan.
