US Lawmakers Led by Gottheimer Tour Israel and Gulf States to Reinforce Regional Security Ties
Bipartisan congressional delegation visits Israel, Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia to deepen cooperation on security, diplomacy and economic integration
A bipartisan group of United States lawmakers led by Representative Josh Gottheimer has concluded a high-level visit to Israel and key Gulf partners, including Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, as part of a regional tour focused on security cooperation, diplomatic coordination and economic engagement.
The trip brought together members of Congress from both parties for meetings with senior political and security officials across the Middle East at a time of heightened regional complexity.
In Israel, the delegation held discussions with government leaders and security officials on regional stability, counter-terrorism and the strategic partnership between Washington and Jerusalem.
Lawmakers reaffirmed strong congressional support for Israel’s security and its role as a central pillar of stability in the region, while also addressing shared concerns over Iran’s activities and broader regional threats.
The visit continued to Bahrain and Qatar, where the delegation met with senior officials to discuss defence cooperation, energy security and the evolving diplomatic architecture in the Gulf.
Talks focused on strengthening existing defence partnerships, maintaining freedom of navigation, and supporting frameworks that encourage regional dialogue and economic integration.
In Saudi Arabia, discussions centred on regional de-escalation efforts, economic reform and the kingdom’s expanding role in regional diplomacy.
Representative Gottheimer described the tour as an opportunity to reinforce long-standing alliances and to encourage practical cooperation among US partners in the Middle East.
Lawmakers emphasised the importance of sustained US engagement to support stability, deter hostile actors and promote economic growth through cross-border cooperation.
The delegation’s meetings underscored continued bipartisan backing in Washington for close coordination with Israel and Gulf partners, reflecting a shared interest in security, prosperity and a rules-based regional order as the Middle East navigates a period of strategic transition.
