Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Human Resources Initiates Second Phase of Electronic Contract Localization for Large Enterprises
The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development started the second phase of an electronic contract documentation system for localization of operations and maintenance in public entities, using the Qiwa platform.
This phase applies to large enterprises, with the third phase starting December 1 for all other sizes.
The goal is to oversee localization contracts in public entities and enforce compliance with targeted localization percentages.
The Saudi government is implementing a new rule requiring enterprises with contracts with government agencies or companies where the state holds a majority stake to upload contract data on the localization service Qiwa.
This decision aims to boost job opportunities for Saudi men and women in the labor market, and applies to various contracts such as operation and maintenance, city cleaning, road maintenance, catering, and IT.
