PwC Executive: GenAI and Project Management Key to Transformative Strategies in Saudi Arabia's Digital Landscape

A top executive from PwC Middle East, Marwan Khamis, emphasized the importance of transformative digital strategies for businesses in Saudi Arabia.
In the context of the firm's latest report, "Digital acceleration: Fueling the ambition for transformation success in Saudi Arabia," Khamis highlighted the role of emerging digital technologies, such as generative artificial intelligence (GenAI,) in achieving sustainable growth and strategic objectives for organizations in the Kingdom.

He noted that many organizations are already pursuing digital transformation initiatives as they approach the halfway mark to Saudi Vision 2030, with a focus on improving decision-making, efficiency, resource utilization, and compliance through the use of these technologies.

At the Global Project Management Forum in Riyadh, it was stated that 73% of Middle Eastern CEOs plan to adopt AI within the next three years to improve outcomes for their beneficiaries.

AI, specifically GenAI, can automate routine tasks and streamline project management processes, allowing organizations to focus on strategic growth and client relationships.

GenAI uses real-time data and advanced training programs to analyze extensive datasets, identify operational efficiencies, and redefine industry best practices.

The report identifies resource availability and timely decision-making as the main challenges for C-suite executives, affecting 90% of respondents.

These issues can be addressed through the use of emerging technologies.

Resistance to change and data availability were also cited as challenges, by 80% and 7% of respondents, respectively.

To overcome these hurdles, a strategic approach is needed, which includes embracing technological advancements while addressing cultural and economic factors.

Project management is highlighted as crucial for organizations undergoing transformation.

The text discusses the need for business transformation among Middle East CEOs, as stated in a recent PwC report where 48% of CEOs believe their businesses need to transform in the next few years.

Effective transformation strategies include fostering a positive work culture for collaboration and adopting digital solutions.

In the Saudi market, quality execution is crucial for successful transformation in both public and private sectors as the country approaches the 2030 mark.

The Saudi National Events Centre (NEC) has become a leader in delivering top-notch events and experiences in Saudi Arabia and the region, thanks to the implementation of digital technologies through PwC Middle East's Transform Hub.

This success story highlights the potential of digital innovation to boost operational efficiency, foster innovation, and ensure long-term success in Saudi Arabia's business environment.
