Saudi Arabia Reaffirms Support for Cairo Summit Resolutions and Criticizes Gaza Aid Blockade

Cabinet Meeting Highlights Commitment to Palestinian Rights and International Cooperation
In an extraordinary Cabinet session held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's Council of Ministers reasserted its full support for the resolutions passed during the Extraordinary Arab Summit for Palestine, convened in Cairo, Egypt.

The summit condemned the displacement of the Palestinian population and emphasized the need to address the adverse consequences of ongoing conflicts in the region.

Key points highlighted included the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state along 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

After the Cabinet meeting, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary communicated to the press the government's condemnation of recent Israeli actions, particularly the suspension of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

The Cabinet urged the international community to uphold its responsibilities regarding what it described as serious violations and called for the implementation of international accountability mechanisms to ensure uninterrupted aid delivery to the affected regions.

During the session, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed appreciation for the observance of Ramadan and reaffirmed the Kingdom's commitment to serving the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque and ensuring the welfare of their visitors.

The Crown Prince also informed the Cabinet about recent diplomatic communications with foreign leaders, including messages from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Comoros President Azali Assoumani.

Additionally, discussions with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun during his recent visit focused on strengthening Saudi-Lebanese relations and addressing current developments in Lebanon.

Al-Dossary further noted the Cabinet's endorsement of a joint statement with Lebanon highlighting the full implementation of the Taif Agreement and the need for Israeli withdrawal from all Lebanese territories, alongside affirming the Lebanese army's role.

On domestic policy, the Cabinet emphasized ongoing support for social services and national initiatives aimed at providing housing for families in need.

The meeting recognized the cooperation among governmental, private, and non-profit organizations aimed at fulfilling the objectives of the Jood Regions Campaign.

The Cabinet reviewed the advancement of significant development projects, including the completion of major service initiatives and the recent opening of the first phase of the Sports Boulevard project, an effort aimed at enhancing Riyadh's status as a global livable city.

Key organizational changes were approved, including the establishment of the Saudi Investment Marketing Authority and the transformation of the National Committee for the Saudi Building Code into the Saudi Center for the Building Code, with new organizational structures and adjustments to the Saudi Building Code Application Law.

Further agreements were authorized in various sectors, including civil defense cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the Maldives, political consultations with Ireland, and mutual investment protections with Egypt.

Additionally, memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were approved regarding scientific cooperation with the Gulf Cooperation Council, cooperation in air transport services with Brunei, competition enhancement with Qatar, and anti-terrorism collaboration with Iraq, among others.
