Saudi Arabia's NSG and SuperMap Collaborate to Enhance Geospatial Technology
Partnership aims to advance the Kingdom's geospatial capabilities in line with Vision 2030 objectives.
Saudi Arabia's geospatial sector is set for significant enhancement following the partnership between Neo Space Group (NSG) and Beijing-based SuperMap Software.
This collaboration is part of a broader strategy aimed at furthering the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals, which seek to diversify its economy and promote technological advancements.
NSG, a satellite and space firm backed by Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund, has established a partnership with SuperMap to enhance geographic information system (GIS) services.
This move aligns with the Kingdom's objectives to expand its commercial space operations and innovate satellite solutions both domestically and internationally.
Established in mid-2024, NSG is dedicated to diversifying investments across local and global assets, while also pursuing promising ventures in the space sector.
The initiative is intended to support the growth of specialized expertise in geospatial technologies within the Kingdom.
The formalization of this partnership occurred during a signing ceremony in Riyadh on February 25, attended by NSG's CEO Abdulaziz bin Suleiman Al-Faraj and Wang Haitao, Vice President of SuperMap and head of its international division.
Al-Faraj highlighted the expected impact of this agreement on Saudi Arabia’s geospatial industry and technological capabilities, stating that the collaboration would deliver innovative GIS solutions beneficial not just to Saudi Arabia but also to the wider Middle East region.
Haitao reaffirmed SuperMap's commitment to contributing to Saudi Arabia's digital transformation and expressed enthusiasm about exploring future opportunities in geospatial technology with NSG.
SuperMap, recognized as one of the largest GIS platform providers worldwide, has recently established a local office in Saudi Arabia to reinforce its presence in the region.
This strategic move underscores the company’s long-term investment in driving innovation and fostering partnerships across the Middle East.
Through this partnership, NSG and SuperMap aspire to transform geospatial technology applications in Saudi Arabia, targeting crucial areas such as urban planning, environmental management, and infrastructure development.
