Danish Minister Highlights Quality of Saudi Dairy and Food Products During Riyadh Visit
Jacob Jensen praises Saudi Arabia's distinctive food industry while reaffirming cooperation in agriculture and food security.
In a recent official visit to Saudi Arabia, Danish Minister of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Jacob Jensen, commended the quality of Saudi food products, with particular emphasis on the country's dairy and cheese sectors.
Jensen remarked on the distinctive nature of the Saudi food industry and acknowledged the increasing exports of Danish food products to the Kingdom.
During his visit, Jensen expressed satisfaction with the ongoing collaboration between Denmark and Saudi Arabia in the domains of agriculture, food security, and water technologies.
He characterized Denmark as a nation known for its high standard of food production, highlighting its commitment to safety, sustainability, and quality in the food sector.
The visit also included an event titled “An evening of Danish flavors with a Saudi touch,” hosted by the Danish Embassy in Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter.
This event saw participation from members of the Danish Agriculture and Food Council, the Dairy Council, a range of officials, representatives from the diplomatic corps, business leaders, and media personnel.
Danish Ambassador Liselotte Plesner emphasized the value of such events in promoting Danish cuisine within Saudi Arabia.
She highlighted Denmark's reputation as a leader in food quality and organic production, referencing the significant accolade of having 32 Danish restaurants collectively awarded 45 Michelin stars.
This distinction positions Denmark at the forefront of culinary excellence on a global scale.
